CATERING
All our events this year will be supported by catering wagons/Event Catering. These will be offering a variety of good hot food and drinks.
IN CHARACTER BAR, THE CRIMSON MOON
At all outdoor events this year the bar and its staff will be in character whenever open. The bar is operated by a professional licensee, whilst being staffed by live role players in NPC roles. The main restriction is that there is to be no fighting in the bar. However, the staff, barkeep and several others will be approachable in character and may, or may not have items of interest besides ale. To keep the spirit of the event you are asked to bring along a suitable drinking vessel. We will be serving strict measures (as required by law) so try and make your vessel one that will hold a pint. There will be normal drinking glasses available but these will not be allowed out of the bar. As with any licensed bar you may not bring your own drinks to consume in the tavern. The beer will be reasonably priced and professionally maintained with a good selection of various other beverages to appeal to anyone's palate. Story telling, singing and other traditional Tavern entertainments will be organised and encouraged. Every effort will be made to create as good an in-character atmosphere as is possible, above all we want you to enjoy this Tavern and hopefully make it the envy of other events. So if you want to swap old stories with other travellers, conduct business in a neutral place or just while away the evening with a few pints, The Crimson Moon is the place to be!
SHOWERS AND TOILETS
Scout sites have different styles of toilet and shower blocks we do ask that you do treat them all with a bit of respect and save us the thankless task of cleaning them on a regular basis. All persons wearing make up please take note. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
FIRST AID
This year we will again benefit from the services of our highly experienced first aid team. Team members will be on site at all times to render first aid and any other medical treatment to those who may need it throughout the event. They will have a first aid point that you can call in to. Any member of security or member of staff with a radio including faction leaders/refs can radio for medical assistance at any time during the event.
WEATHER
English weather! How do you prepare for it? Be prepared for hot and cold, wet and dry! Bring warm clothing; it can get cold at night. Also bring wet weather gear, at least a rain coat. On the other hand make sure you bring some good sun block. Burn times can be as low as 20 minutes. Make sure you do not become dehydrated, drink plenty of water regularly (not alcohol, this does not help dehydration at all!). Finally stay out of the afternoon sun as much as possible. The strenuous activities of LRP can soon bring about heat exhaustion. Should you feel ill do not hesitate to seek the advice of the first aid team or a member of the security team.
RUBBISH
Please make sure you clear up all your rubbish and bag it securely by tying the bags up. There will be several rubbish skips on site and we suggest you use these to avoid attracting insects to your camping areas. Bin bags will be available from security. Please, please, please make sure we leave every site neat and tidy when we leave. We would like to come back.
