RECKONING
After the shocking events of Renewal 1109 the Factions have little choice but to attempt to regain control of the Great Circle lost to the Tagmatoi. This is especially urgent, as since its loss, all other known Ritual Circles seem to be losing some power or acting erratically! But how can they do this when the source of their greatest power is denied to them?This, then, is your task, brave adventurer - to aid your fellow free peoples to regain control of the greatest Ritual Circle known to you deep within the heart of the Black Forest of Teutonia. What changes will have occurred within not just the confines of the Great Circle but also within the local area? Whilst it is true that the Circle has been guarded both physically and magically over the winter months, few believe that the Tagmatoi will have limited themselves to just denying the free people their greatest source of Ritual power. They must surely be using it for their own nefarious purposes!
After the defeat of their army at Renewal, where have any surviving Tagmatoi gone? Indeed, was that their main army - or merely an advance force tasked with distracting the Factions in order to gain control of the Great Circle? Nobody can be certain - but it seems likely that the Factions have not seen the last of this enemy.
As ever, other dangers threaten. Will the Suebi have secretly gathered their strength and that of their Demons - or have they learnt their lesson from last year? Will there be ramifications as yet unknown from the unsuccessful revolt by General Tei and the subsequent break up of Imperial control of some areas? Perhaps more pressingly allies and minions of the mysterious Von Beck may still remain at large in the area as does the Brood King and his forces. What is the Night Sceptre and what are its real powers?
In addition what does the appearance of the beings known as the Celestials really portend? Are they friend or foe? The same questions can be asked of the Elementals who have been appearing with increasing regularity over recent times. What do they want, if anything? Who can tell at this stage? There may of course be as yet un-revealed threats to the safety of the free folk - for who knows what manner of beings lurk in the twilight and dark corners of the world?
Whatever occurs, what is certain is that control of the Great Circle needs to be recovered to ensure that the Factions are at full strength to deal with any challenges that come their way in the future.
There is however also cause for great celebration as King Hapsburg intends to marry Tabetha Drachemorden, and he has sworn his own wedding celebration will herald the advance against the enemy, and the swords of the beaten Tagmatoi will be laid at his bride’s feet in tribute! All are invited, so long as they come prepared to fight for theirs and others freedom and are ready if called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect their way of life against all who would threaten it.
