After last summers victories in Cornwall the tattooed invaders were driven from the land of Albion and back to the once fair but now war ravaged island of Erin. With the Fir Cruthen and their allies thirsting for vengeance and the desire to liberate Erin once again all the Free Peoples agreed to launch a campaign to retake the island in the spring of 1108.

In a surprise move the Fir Cruthen launched a major invasion in the northeast of Erin whilst diverting the invaders attentions with raids elsewhere. This was a huge gamble on the part of the Fir Cruthen and whilst it was initially successful they now face the full might of the remaining invader forces in the area of a strategic pass. Joined by their friends and allies this pass must now be taken so that the combined might of all of the Faction’s can sweep down and liberate the rest of northern Erin, fail and the invaders may well sweep the Factions back into the sea perhaps losing Erin forever!

Despite their defeats and retreat from Cornwall the invaders appear to still be a formidable opponent and some believe that they may only have abandoned Cornwall for strategic reasons. There is also the fact that the Invaders have managed to capture a number of the Factions treasures and artefacts during last years campaign, who knows what nefarious uses they may have or will put these items to? To further fire the Fir Cruthen desire for a reckoning there is evidence that the invaders have systematically slaughtered a great many of Erin’s inhabitants during their occupation of the island much as they did in Cornwall last year. Surely such bloodthirsty and ruthless opponents will not be easy to defeat decisively!

To further add to the already fraught situation the actions and whereabouts of both the Formorii and those mysterious and ancient inhabitants of the Great Forest must be taken into consideration. Will they side with the Invaders or the Factions or perhaps they will simply follow their own as yet unknown plans? In addition there are the attacks last year apparently by Tokra on many factions’s ports and against their shipping with much slaughter and damage to those unlucky factions’s, will they yet have a say in this fight? There are also wild rumours that these Tokra are lead by the Blood Queen but this is clearly the work of terrified imaginations or is it? There are also rumours that the Invaders have even warped the very flora and fauna of Erin for who knows what purpose or could it be that the flora and fauna have revolted against this alien presence themselves? So welcome to war torn Erin brave soul may your sword be as sharp as you mind for you are sure to need both in the dark days ahead!
